Media Company IMGN Media Raises $3M in Funding

IMGN Media, a NYC-based technology-driven media company building relevant content brands with audiences across the leading social platforms, raised an additional $3m in Series A financing bringing the total to $6M.

Backers included Dot Capital, Rhodium, UTA, KDC Media Fund (joint venture of Keshet and Dick Clark Productions), Big Block Media, Ron Zuckerman, etc.

The company plans to use the new funding to expand the editorial team, produce original content, expand to additional social platforms, increase brand partnerships and make a continued investment in Viral Lab, its proprietary social data platform.

Led by Barak Shragai, CEO, IMGN builds and manages content brands across social platforms with highly engaged social audiences relatable content formats such as memes, fictional characters, unique data and millennial content editors.
Started as Comedy.com two years ago, the company has evolved developing original and branded content across social platforms. IMGN operates:
– DAQUAN, an Instagram brand which delivers memes on internet culture that resonate with fans and celebrities alike (with 11.1M followers)
– SOCCERMEMES, an Instagram comedic soccer brand, and
– JOURNAL, an Instagram teenage girls-centric brand.

The company works with advertisers to bring them to the center of internet culture across their suite of brands. IMGN has already collaborated with companies such as Netflix, Burger King, MTV, Electronic Arts and Microsoft.
