Luxury Brand Tamara Mellon Raises $24M in Series B

Tamara Mellon, a Los Angeles, CA-based direct-to-consumer women’s luxury footwear brand, raised $24m in Series B financing.

The round was led by existing investors New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with participation from new investor Quadrille Capital.

The company, which has raised $37m in total capital, intends to use the funds to expand product assortment and hire new employees.

Co-founded by Tamara Mellon and CEO Jill Layfield, Tamara Mellon is a direct-to-consumer luxury footwear brand designed for women. Shoes are made in Italian factories and the company cuts out the 6x retail markup to offer high quality shoes at better prices.
The brand also offers a complimentary cobbler service for two years after purchase.

Prior to raising its Series B, the company had 18 employees, including its two female founders.
