Leanplum Acquires Conversational Marketing Company Connecto

Leanplum, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of mobile engagement solutions, acquired Connecto, a Sofia, Bulgaria-based provider of AI-powered conversational marketing solutions.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Co-founded by Vassil Popovski (CEO), Radoslav Nikolov (CTO), and Vladimir Rusev (CRO), Connecto empowers brands to leverage messaging through AI-powered conversational interfaces.

This acquisition will acceletate innovation in AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and advanced algorithms across the Leanplum platform. Through it, the company will bring together Connecto’s AI-driven automation with its mobile engagement platform to enable brands to engage their customers in real-time across a wide range of connected experiences.
Leanplum’s customers will benefit from new conversational capabilities across every mobile touch point, including push notifications, messaging platforms, digital voice assistants, over-the-top media services (OTT), and more.

Led by Momchil Kyurkchiev, co-founder and CEO, Leanplum is a mobile marketing platform built for engagement. Global brands like Tinder, Grab, Tesco, and Zynga use it to orchestrate multi-channel campaigns — from messaging to the in-app experience.
Founded in 2012, the company also has offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. It has received more than $98m in funding from Norwest Venture Partners, Canaan Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Shasta Ventures.
