Cleo Raises $10.5M in Series A Funding

Cleo, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that allows working parents to transition back to the workplace, raised $10.5m in Series A funding.

Backers included Greylock Partners, Forerunner Ventures and Felicis Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Sarah Guo from Greylock, has joined Cleo’s board of directors.

The company, which has raised over $13M in total funding, intends to use the capital to continue to expand its business reach.

Led by Shannon Spanhake, CEO, and Dr. Chitra Akileswaran, Chief Medical Officer, Cleo provides an app that pairs intelligent personalization technology with a global network of certified care practitioners to guide parents on their journey from considering, to pregnancy, to parenthood, and back to work again. Employers can see increased employee retention, inclusive workplaces, health outcomes, and savings on expensive pregnancy-related health claims.
Cleo supports parents in 35 countries, partnering with companies like Box, Slack, Cooley LLP, BPM, and many others.
