Aquatech Company Umitron Closes S$11.2M Funding Round

Umitron Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based aquatech company, raised $11.2m SGD in funding.

The financing was a co-investment by Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, D4V(Design for Ventures) participated by Ideo, and angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its existing services and R&D efforts.

Led by Co-founder and Managing director Masahiko Yamada, Umitron is a data company for aquaculture, which develops a computerized sustainable aquaculture model by using technology such as IoT, satellite remote sensing and AI. In June 2017, the company released “UmiGarden”, a feed optimization product for fish school analysis.
Umitron also has R&D facilities in Japan.
