FoodTech Startup Ekim Secures €2.2M in First Institutional Funding

Ekim, a French food tech startup, raised €2.2m in first institutional funding.

Backers included Partech and daphni funds.

The company intends to use the funds for the business development of its fast food solution.

Created at the end of 2013 by Sébastien Roverso and Cyrill Hamon, and led by Philippe Goldman – ex l’Oréal, Ekim is a foodtech startup that has created an autonomous restaurant with pizzaiolo robots. Through the technology involved (robots, apps, and data analysis), PAZZI (this is the name of the brand) offers customers a dining experience featuring high quality ingredients, optimal service time, ultrapersonalized service, and entertainment.
The robots are autonomous from order to delivery, i.e. they require no human intervention.
Following a pilot project in France at the end of 2018, the solution will be developed under franchise or license agreements in 2019.
