Leanplum Raises $52M in Series D Funding

Leanplum, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a mobile engagement platform, closed $52m Series D funding.

The add-on investment was made by Waterwood Group.

The company intends to use the funds to scale and accelerate growth in China and the greater Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Founded in 2012 by Momchil Kyurkchiev, CEO, Leanplum provides a mobile marketing platform 
built for engagement. Brands such as Tinder, Grab, Tesco, and Zynga use the platform to orchestrate multi-channel campaigns — from messaging to the in-app experience. It provides real-time insights and capabilities to enable marketers to deliver in-the-moment engagement and build customer relationships.
APAC’s most prominent mobile apps including Liven, Lomotif, ofo, and TMON use Leanplum to power their marketing campaigns.
