Zūm Raises $19M in Series B Funding

Zūm, a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of reliable transportation and care for children, secured $19m in Series B funding.

The round, which brings total venture funding to $26.8m, was led by Spark Capital with participation from existing investor Sequoia Capital. Alongside this round, Nabeel Hyatt, general partner at Spark Capital, will be joining Zūm’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its school offering and grow its presence in select major metro areas in the U.S. in the next two years as well as to hire engineering, operations, marketing, and sales talent.

Founded by Ritu Narayan, Vivek Garg and Abhishek Garg, Zūm provides families with transportation from screened and certified professionals through partnerships with over 1,000 public, private, and charter schools in California. The company’s offering allows schools to scale up and scale down their transportation needs based on number of riders and routes.
