TheSkimm, a media company dedicated to women, raised $12 in Series C funding.
The round was led by GV with participation from 21st Century Fox, RRE Ventures and Homebrew Ventures.
The company, which has raised $28 since 2012. intends to use the funds to expand its product line.
Co-founded by Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin, TheSkimm provides a daily newsletter focused on female millennials. Started as a newsletter, The Daily Skimm, the company launched theSkimm App, a subscription product that integrates future events in culture, politics, tech, and more by integrating directly into users’ calendar, and later expanded into video and audio.
