Ocient Secures $10M in Series A Funding

Ocient, a Chicago, IL-based builder of database and analytics software, secured about $10m in Series A funding.

The backers remained undisclosed.

The company will use the funds to support its engineering team, continue research & development and activate its new development lab.

Co-founded by Chris Gladwin, Joseph Jablonski and George Kondiles, Ocient builds a relational database and analytics software platform for petabyte- to exabyte-scale data sets, which enables organizations to analyze immense amounts of data.
According to a note, the platform is designed to hold quadrillions of rows of data, ingress at speeds of billions of rows per second, and filter and compute results at rates of up to trillions of rows per second.
