Kixeye Raises $20M in Funding

Kixeye, a San Francisco, CA-based online gaming company, raised $20m in funding.

The round was led by Icon Ventures wth participation from Ridge Ventures, Trinity Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Jeremy Liew, Lightspeed Managing Director, will rejoin Kixeye’s board.

The company is using the funds to expand operations and continue to develop its tech platform with a specific focus on mobile.

Founded in 2009 by Paul Preece, Will Harbin and Dave Scott, Kixeye is the online gaming company behind such titles as Backyard Monsters, Vega Conflict, Battle Pirates and War Commander.
The company is now working to build an in-house machine-learning platform that optimizes marketing, monetization, and retention of mobile games.

Kixeye also has additional studios in Australia, Canada, and Vietnam.
