CoEdition, a NYC-based brand site for women sizes 10 and above, secured $4m in seed funding.
The round was led by New Enterprise Associates with participation from General Catalyst, Primary and BBG Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to build customer awareness and loyalty in the market through several marketing channels, and build a team of merchants, software developers and data scientists.
Led by Keith George (CEO), Brooke Cundiff (Chief Merchandising Officer), Kent Helbig (Chief Operating Officer & Chief Technology Officer) and Kevin Ryan, CoEdition is a site dedicated to serving style conscious women sized 10 to 26, and building an inclusive community for style and product discovery.
It will feature items from designers each season through original and user-generated content and reviews.
At launch, the site will offer a mix of brands (Rachel Roy, Stuart Weitzman, Tahari), small, exciting brands (Warp + Weft, Margaux) and some international players (City Chic, Elvi). Additionally, there will be exclusive brand collaborations post-launch that will be unveiled as they roll out, including a partnership with Splendid.
