Unacast Raises $17.5M in Funding

Unacast, a contextual and transparent location data platform, raised $17.5m new funding.

The round was led by White Star Capital, with participation from strategic investor Telia, and co-led by existing investors Open Ocean Capital and Investinor.

The company intends to use the funds to continually improve overall data quality, invest in product and innovation in 2018, while continuing to make strategic hires.

Founded in Oslo, Norway by Thomas Walle, CEO, and Kjartan Slette, and now headquartered in New York City, Unacast provides companies across a wide range of industries with contextual and transparent location data platform to better understand how people move, act and behave while maintaining and protecting user privacy.
The company has clients in marketing technology, research and analytics, finance, governments, and city planning.
