Brown Advisory Joins Forces with NextGen Venture Partners

Brown Advisory, an investment and strategic advisory firm, has joined forces with NextGen Venture Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based network-driven venture capital firm.

Founded by investment industry veterans Dan Mindus and Brett Gibson, NextGen is an early-stage tech venture capital firm which a national venture partner network of over 900 entrepreneurs and investors who source, analyze, support and invest in startup companies.

Founded in 1993 within Alex. Brown & Sons, Brown Advisory began investing in private equity for clients in 1997 and, twenty years later, the firm’s clients, have committed over $1.7 billion to private funds and investments.

The NextGen team will join their new Brown Advisory colleagues in offices across the United States.
Joining Brown Advisory are:

– Lisa Cuesta, Principal
– Callum Booker, Associate
– Corinne Smeriglio, Director of Operations

There will not be any immediate change to NextGen’s venture partner platform or investment process. The integration of the two firms will start with combined operations and the co-location of colleagues in Washington, D.C.; Boston; New York; and Austin.
