Adaptive Studios Raises $16.5M in Series B Funding

Adaptive Studios, a Culver City, California-based entertainment studio, raised $16.5m in Series B funding.

Backers included AMC Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: AMCX) and Atwater Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to continue the development of content for distribution across traditional and digital platforms.

Founded by Perrin Chiles, TJ Barrack and Marc Joubert, Adaptive Studios is an entertainment studio taking a story-first approach to creating premium content for emerging and traditional platforms. The company acquires undervalued intellectual property from the Hollywood system in addition to incubating new ideas from a community of emerging filmmakers.

Partners include high profile collaborators and distributors including AMC Networks, HBO, Netflix, Verizon, Miramax, FX Networks, YouTube Red, Fox Animation, 21 Laps, Lionsgate, blackpills and more.
