Tissue Analytics, a Baltimore, MD-based provider of wound and skin care solutions, raised $5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by DigiTx Partners with participation from Tencent, Dreamit, Molnlycke Health Care, Intermountain Healthcare and Penn Medicine.
The company intends to use the funds for expansion of the sales team in the Kansas City office and hiring data analytics personnel in the Baltimore office.
Incorporated in 2014 by Kevin Keenahan, CEO, Tissue Analytics develops an EMR module for chronic wound management, which uses machine learning to speed up clinical documentation workflows and improve the quality of data.
The company, which recently opened a satellite office in Kansas City, MO, has partnered with several of the largest companies in the space to distribute the product including Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, and athenaHealth.
