Sumo Logic Acquires FactorChain

Sumo Logic, a Redwood City, Calif.-based cloud-native, machine data analytics platform that delivers continuous intelligence, acquired FactorChain, an early stage security company.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Led by Dave Frampton, founder and CEO, FactorChain provides a security investigation platform that enables improvements in speed and depth of threat investigations and quick resolution of complex threats spanning both IT and security.

As part of Sumo Logic’s security analytics solution, the company’s investigation platform will integrate into the SaaS machine data analytics platform, with the aim to provide step function improvements in speed, accuracy, and retained learning of threat investigation workflows across IT and security.

As part of the acquisition, Sumo Logic has incorporated the entire FactorChain team. Frampton, Ken Tidwell, FactorChain co-founder and CTO and former chief architect of ArcSight, will be VP of security engineering leading the security analytics development and architecture.

Founded in 2010 by Ramin Sayar, CEO, Sumo Logic is a secure, cloud-native, machine data analytics service, delivering real-time, continuous intelligence from structured, semi-structured and unstructured data across the entire application lifecycle and stack.
The company currently has more than 1,500 customers around the globe.
