SmartHR Secures US$13.3m in Series B Funding

SmartHR, a Tokyo, Japan-based HR management platform provider, secured US$13.3m in series B funding.

The round was led by 500 Startups with participation from Tokio Marine, Nikko, and CVC Capital Partners and others.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations and its development efforts as well as to further its business reach.

Founded in 2015 and led by CEO Shoji Miyata and COO Takafumi Kurahashi, SmartHR provides crowd-sourced personnel management software, which enables users to fill out an online form and then generate digital versions of pension, employment insurance, and other HR-related documents which can be submitted to the government offices.

The company currently has 50 employees and 10,000 customers.
