Babblabs Raises $4M in Seed Funding

Babblabs, a San Jose, CA-based advanced speech processing startup, raised $4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Cognite Ventures, with participation from Jerry Yang, founding partner of AME Cloud Ventures, and independent investors John Hennessy, Harvey Jones, James Hogan and Kurt Keutzer.

The company intends to use the funds for initial development and productization of advanced cloud and embedded speech processing systems using deep neural network and audio processing technologies.

Founded in 2017 and led by Chris Rowen, CEO, Babblabs develops new technologies for speech processing, using deep neural networks and audio signal processing techniques. While Babblabs products have not been announced or released, the core capabilities of the company span human-human communication and human-machine interaction.
