Apprente, a Palo Alto, California-based artificial intelligence tech company that is building intelligent conversational agents for customer service applications, secured $4.75m in seed funding.
Backers included AME Cloud Ventures, Greylock Partners via Discovery Fund, Morado Ventures, Pathbreaker Ventures and StageOne Ventures, as well as angel investors Georges Harik and Jaan Tallinn.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its research and development team and further product development.
Led by Itamar Arel, CEO, Apprente leverages proprietary neuroscience-based AI technology to create intelligent conversational agents for customer service applications. According to the company, its integratable systems are naturally engaging, capable of understanding context and able to offer the same sense of immediacy found in human interactions.
