Bitdefender Receives Minority Investment from Vitruvian Partners

Bitdefender Holding B.V., a Bucharest, Romania- abd Santa Clara, CA-based global cybersecurity technology company, received a significant minority investment from Vitruvian Partners.

Vitruvian has acquired a stake of approximately 30% in the company from existing shareholder Axxess Capital, which valued the business at over $600 million. Following the deal, the private equity firm has become the second-largest shareholder with co-founders Mariuca and Florin Talpes continuing to hold the majority stake.
A group of private investors hold a minority stake in the company.

Led by Florin Talpes, Founder and CEO, Bitdefender provides an IT security software to government organizations, large enterprises, SMEs, and private individuals in over 150 countries.
The company also provides Bitdefender BOX, a hardware based IoT security solution that offers the ability to protect all the connected devices present in the household, even those which cannot be protected by traditional security software.

The 500 million endpoints protected form a security network that provides Bitdefender with real-time feedback from around the globe.

Globally, Bitdefender employs 1,300 staff across nine offices and has a network of more than 7,000 reseller partners.
