Aaptiv Raises $38M in Funding

Aaptiv, a NYC-based digital health company, raised $38m in funding.

The funding include a Series A funding of $12m and a Series B funding of $26m, both led by Insight Venture Partners, along with existing investors Arena Ventures, Pear Ventures and Switch VC. In conjuction with the funding, Thilo Semmelbauer, Venture Partner at Insight Venture Partners, former President and COO of Shutterstock, and previous interim CEO and current board member of Weight Watchers, joined Aaptiv’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to enhance the member experience and accelerate growth.

Launched in 2015 by Ethan Agarwal, CEO, Aaptiv provides access to over 2,500 audio-based fitness classes, programs, and challenges created by expert trainers featuring workouts for cardio, strength, and meditation.
The app hosts a wide range of fitness categories and invites different lifestyles and levels of experience, appealing to people of all backgrounds, skillsets, and interests.
