Turner Imaging Systems, an Orem, Utah-based developer of the Smart-C battery-powered mini C-arm, closed its seed funding round of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by Cavendish Impact Capital with participation from other private investors. In conjunction with the funding, John Evey, Managing Director of Cavendish Impact Capital, has joined the Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to finance operations, continue development efforts related to its innovative technology, and commercialization of the Smart-C Portable C-Arm upon regulatory approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Led by Dr. D. Clark Turner, President & CEO, Turner Imaging Systems develops and markets X-ray imaging systems that give the user the ability to acquire X-ray images wherever and whenever they are needed. Its latest product, the SMART-C arm, is a fully-functional mini-C-arm system that is battery operated and hand-transportable, improving the way fluoroscopy is performed, particularly in underserved regions without access to state-of-the-art equipment.
