Spotahome, a Madrid, Spain-based platform for booking mid-to-long-term accommodations, raised €13.6m in Series A funding.
Backers included Passion Capital, Seaya Ventures, Howzat Partners, Samaipata Ventures, Arthur Kosten, Nordic Makers, Gate 93, Mexico Ventures, Apostolos Apostolakis, Javier Etxebeste, Charlotte Street Capital, Samos Investments, and Modara Technologies.
The compay intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations, its business reach and development efforts.
Launched by Alejandro Artacho, Bryan McEire, Hugo Monteiro and Bruno Bianchi in March 2014, Spotahome is a rental site for mid to long term accommodation offering thousands of personally-checked rooms, apartments, and student dorms with virtual viewings on the site including photos, HD video tours, and floor plans.
The site allows people to secure accommodation online for more than a month in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria and UAE.
