Latitude Geographics Group Ltd., a Victoria, B.C.-based provider of web-based mapping software and related Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities, received an investment from Battery Ventures.
The specific terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to grow and expand internationally.
Founded in 1999 and led by Steven Myhill-Jones, CEO, Latitude develops Geocortex, a software platform for customers to maximize the potential of their investment in web mapping technology made by Esri, the world leader in GIS. The company’s business centers on government customers, as well as industry sectors like energy and public safety, and is focused on enabling organizations to deliver mapping and GIS technology to their end users.
Geocortex is used by more than 1400 organizations around the world.
