Zipwhip Closes $22.5M Series C Funding

Zipwhip, a Seattle, Wash.-based software platform for two-way business texting, closed a $22.5m Series C financing.

The round was led by OpenView, with participation from Voyager Capital and Microsoft Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Scott Maxwell, founder and Managing Partner at OpenView, joined Zipwhip’s board.

The new capital will be invested in the core network, accelerating the product roadmap and scaling sales and marketing efforts.

Led by John Lauer, CEO, Zipwhip provides a SaaS based platform which adds text messaging to existing landline, VoIP and toll free phone numbers. It pairs direct network connectivity with out-of-the-box software, in order to allow businesses of any size to give customers the choice to text or call and handle two-way text conversations at scale.
