Transit, a Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based urban transportation tech company, raised $5M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Accel with participation from Accomplice, Real Ventures and the Business Development Bank of Canada.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform and expand operations.
Co-founded by Guillaume Campagna and Sam Vermette, Transit enables people to simplify the commute in 130+ metro areas around the world via a mobile app, which tackles every aspect of the urban transportation experience, from maps to trip planning to real-time.
The underlying technology enables the app to show users every nearby transit line, instantly, via its real-time transit GPS, and integrates all the mobility services in a given neighbourhood so people can make informed decisions on the best way to get.
