Swirlds Raises $3M in Seed Funding

Swirlds, a Dallas, TX-based creator of the hashgraph distributed consensus platform, closed a $3M seed funding.

The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA).

The funds will be used to accelerate platform development and drive adoption in additional key sectors.

Led by Mance Harmon, Founder and CEO, Swirlds provides a hashgraph algorithm that enables enterprises and developers to build and run fully distributed applications that harness the cloud without servers.
The company’s patented hashgraph consensus algorithm, developed by Co-Founder and CTO Leemon Baird, uses a new protocol to enable distributed and decentralized communities to reach consensus in a fast and secure way, and is resilient to DDoS attacks.
The company has rapidly gained traction across a wide swath of categories from gaming to online collaboration to financial services.
