RealtyShares Raises $28M in Series C Funding

RealtyShares, a San Francisco, CA-based online marketplace for real estate investing, raised $28m in Series C financing.

Backers included Cross Creek Advisors, Danhua Capital, Barry Sternlicht (Founder of Starwood Capital and Starwood Resorts) and Bow Capital, along with prior investors Union Square Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, and Menlo Ventures.

The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Founder and CEO Nav Athwal, RealtyShares operates an online real estate investment marketplace that connects borrowers and sponsors to debt and equity capital from accredited and institutional investors, across an array of financing products. Investors can browse investment opportunities, perform due diligence, invest online and gain 24/7 access to a dashboard to watch how their investments are performing.
RealtyShares, which offers securities through North Capital Private Securities Corporation, member FINRA/SIPC, has deployed $500 million across more than 1,000 real estate opportunities in 39 states, as of this summer.
