IXcellerate, a London, UK and Moscow, Russia-based operator of a commercial datacenter in Russia, signed a $15m convertible loan agreement with Goldman Sachs.
Goldman Sachs has become the third key investor in IXcellerate (together with IFC and Sumitomo Corporation) and will hold approximately 25% of shares following conversion. The total sum of funding that the company has raised in international markets for its Russian project amounts to $35m USD.
This funding will be used to expand the IXcellerate Moscow One Datacentre located in Northern Moscow.
Led by Guy Willner, CEO, IXcellerate is an operator of a carrier and cloud neutral data center in Russia, based in Moscow. It offers personalized solutions for collocating servers and telecommunication equipment of scalable, on-demand capacity. The campus has a total territory of 15,741 square meters, colocation space in the current building – 6000 square meters, total colocation capacity in the current building – 2185 racks.
Customers include multinational corporations, finance conglomerates, large retailers and IT providers, communications companies and other firms that process big data.
The list includes Russian and international companies such as Thomson Reuters, Orange Business Services, RETN, Telia, NTT Communications, Evroset, Softline, Onlanta, FORS Distribution, as well as other global corporations, undisclosed due to confidentiality policies.
