DSP Concepts, Inc., a Santa Clara, Calif.-based developer of embedded digital signal processing audio solutions and specialist in voice UI technologies, raised $10M in Series A funding.
The round was led by BMW i Ventures, with participation from Walden International Ventures and angel investor David Tsang.
The company intends to use the funds to transition from an engineering services business to a technology licensing business.
Founded by Dr. Paul Beckmann in 2003, and also led by John Whitecar, Chief Operating Officer, DSP Concepts provides embedded audio digital signal processing solutions delivered through its Audio Weaver® platform. The company, which specializes in microphone processing, as well as playback processing, is a supplier to top tier brands in automotive and consumer products.
Partners include Amlogic, Cadence Design Systems, Knowles Corporation, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments Inc., and several others.
