Private Equity Firm Tailwind Capital Closes Latest Fund, at $1.047 Billion

Tailwind Capital, a NYC-based private equity firm focused on investments in growth-oriented, middle market companies, closed its latest fund, at $1.047 billion.

Per an SEC filing, 87 investors participated in the offering of Tailwind Capital Partners III, L.P.

Led by Managing Partner Lawrence B. Sorrel and partners Jeffrey M. Calhoun, James S. Hoch, Geoffrey S. Raker, Frank V. Sica, Adam F. Stulberger, Tailwind invests in targeted sectors within Healthcare, Business Services and Industrial Services, partnering with entrepreneurs and management teams to grow businesses through organic growth initiatives, acquisitions, and operational and strategic investments.
With over $3 billion of committed equity capital, the firm has invested in more than 30 portfolio companies and in more than 50 add-on acquisitions.

Investments include DermaRite, Cumming Group, MetroGistics, Stratix, Premier Store Fixtures, National HME, Lieberman Research Worldwide, among others.
