Lift Co. Ltd., a Toronto, Canada-based cannabis media and technology platform, raised $3m in Series A funding.
The backers remained undisclosed.
The company is using the funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2014 as an educational website for medical cannabis patients, Lift has since grown and expanded its offerings across Canada, becoming one of the country’s most recognized cannabis brands offering events, publications, and lift.co – a large database of medical cannabis products, patient reviews and information in Canada.
Led by CEO, Matei Olaru, the company has grown from six employees last year to more than 20 today. The company has added Craig Hudson as its new Chief Operations Officer and Mirella-Marie Radman as its new Chief Communications Officer to the executive team.
Mr. Hudson brings over 15 years of Finance and Operations experience to Lift, most recently serving as the Vice President of Digital Operations for Indigo Books And Music.
Ms. Radman has over 20 years of marketing, communications, and media relations experience working for a variety of companies and organizations, most recently spending six years as a Senior Marketing Manager for The Globe and Mail. She has previously held various positions in communications and marketing at QX, American Express, Redknee, and NATO.
