Brella Raises €1.2M in Private Equity Funding

Brella, a Jyväskylä, Finland-based developer of a networking application for business events, raised €1.2m in private equity funding.

The round was led by Vendep Capital with participation from a team of international angel investors, including from the USA, France and Finland.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its operations in the USA, its important market, to hire over a dozen product developers, as well as sales and marketing staff, in Finland.

Founded in 2016 and led by Markus Kauppinen, CEO, and Jyrki Paananen, COO, Brella provides a networking application for business events. The service allows event visitors to grow their business network and meet relevant people by means of an intelligent matchmaking algorithm.
The mobile and web application has hundreds of thousands of users who have found jobs, colleagues, investors, and other business contacts.
Customers include Slush, Samsung, Microsoft and TechCrunch.
