Auris Surgical Robotics Raises $280.21M in Series D Funding

Auris Surgical Robotics, a San Carlos, California-based developer of robotics technology for medical applications, $280.21m in Series D funding.

Per an SEC filing, 39 backers participated in the equity round.

Ther round was led by Coatue Management with participation from Viking Global Investors, Section 32 and Partner Fund Management. Early backers included Mithril, Lux Capital and Highland Capital Partners.

Led by Dr. Frederic H. Moll, M.D., CEO, Auris Surgical Robotics. is advancing a platform that integrates advancements in robotics, micro-instrumentation, sensing, and data science to develop targeted, minimally invasive therapies that treat only the diseased cells in order to prevent the progression of a patient’s illness. The technology uses a patient-specific approach that maintains the integrity of the human body and its organ systems during medical intervention.
