Leesa Sleep Closes $23M Series B Funding

Leesa Sleep, LLC, a Virginia Beach, Va.–based direct-to-consumer online luxury mattress retailer, closed a £17.6m ($23m) Series B funding.

The round was led by One Better Ventures, an investment company led by Seventh Generation CEO John Replogle, with participation from Blake Mycoskie, Founder of TOMS. In conjunction with the funding, Mr. Replogle will join Leesa as Chairman of the Board alongside Peter Graham who was Chairman of Seventh Generation until its recent sale to Unilever, who will also join the Leesa Sleep Board.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in the brand, to launch a series of new products as well as to extend the reach and impact of its partnerships, events and celebrity relationships, including long term ambassadors Michael Phelps and Aly Raisman.

Launched at the beginning of 2015 by e-commerce entrepreneur CEO David Wolfe and mattress industry veteran Jamie Diamonstein, Leesa is a a certified B Corp direct-to-consumer online luxury mattress company that delivers directly to consumers’ homes. The company currently delivers to the U.S., U.K. Germany and Canada.

Headquarted in Virginia Beach, Va. with UK offices in Manchester, Leesa has raised £5.4m ($7m) in Series A funding in mid-2015 through TitleCard Capital, whose partners include artists and professional athletes such as Adam Levine, Jimmy Kimmel and Kate Hudson.
