Textio Raises $20M in Series B Funding

Textio, a Seattle, WA-based developer an augmented writing platform, raised $20m inSeries B funding.

The round was led by Scale Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Stacey Bishop, Partner at Scale Venture Partners, will join Textio’s Board of Directors. Prior investors in the company include Bloomberg Beta, Cowboy Ventures, Emergence Capital, and Upside Partnership.

The company, which has raised $29.5m in funding, intends to use the funds to bring its predictive engine to all different forms of business writing.

Founded in Seattle in 2014 by Kieran Snyder and Jensen Harris, Textio is an augmented writing platform that leverages a proprietary data set to predict how different people will respond to written content, and shows writers exactly why, so that they can make performance improvements before a document is published.
The company’s first application on the platform is used for writing more effective job postings.

Textio already has annual subscriptions from many Fortune 500 companies, among them Johnson & Johnson and Cisco.
