Biocomposites, a Keele, UK-based maker of calcium compound biologics, received an investment from TA Associates.
Barings provided senior loans to back the transaction. No financial terms were disclosed.
Biocomposites focuses on the development of innovative calcium compounds for surgical use. Their bone graft matrices can be used in the presence of infection for regenerating bone and managing dead space in a range of orthopedic procedures. Biocomposites sells directly to hospitals and through independent distributors, with the United States representing its largest market. Research, manufacturing and distribution is handled in-house at the company’s headquarters in Keele, UK.
Sales representative offices are also maintained in Wilmington, North Carolina and Shanghai, China.
