Wandera Raises $27.5M in Funding

Wandera, a London, UK- and San Francisco, CA-based provider of a mobile gateway for enterprise mobile security and data policy, completed a $27.5m Series C equity and venture debt financing.

The round was led by new investor Sapphire Ventures with participation from existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and 83North. As part of the new investment, Andreas Weiskam, managing director at Sapphire Ventures, will join the Wandera Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised $50m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to expand its global presence and further develop its gateway technologies.

Led by Roy Tuvey, Co Founder and President, Wandera offers organizations a solution for Enterprise Mobile Security and Data Policy, using a gateway architecture to protect and enable corporate mobility. Its intelligence engine, MI:RIAM, is designed to identify zero day threats and surface new analytic insights using a blend of machine learning and data science techniques. In 2016, it scanned 26 billion mobile web requests including 700,000 unique apps and over 10 million plus web domains.
Major global deployments include leading organizations in healthcare, finance, technology and professional services.

The company, which also opened offices in Athens, Brno and Tel Aviv in 2016, works with more than 500 global enterprises, and has alliances with among others Deutsche Telekom, BT, Orange, Verizon and VMware.
