Signal Sciences Raises $15M in Funding

Signal Sciences, a Venice, California-based developer of web application security services, raised $15m in Series B funding.

The round was led by CRV with participation from Harrison Metal, Index Ventures and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale adoption of its solution.

Led by Andrew Peterson, CEO and Co-Founder, Signal Sciences provides a web application security solution which provides comprehensive threat protection for web applications, microservices, and APIs on any platform. The platform, which already protects more than 50 billion requests every single week, offers a menu of deployment options, including next-gen WAF and runtime application security protection (RASP) modules, and can also operate as a reverse proxy for legacy applications.
The solution works on any cloud, any container, any PaaS, and any IaaS, protecting against a full spectrum of real threats including OWASP Top 10, application DDoS, account takeover, custom business logic, and many other real threat models for modern applications. It comes with over 16 single click integrations, including Atlassian JIRA software, Datadog, PagerDuty, Slack, and Splunk, among others, and an API-first design that allows any integration to be created.
