Owl Labs Comes out of Stealth with $6M in Series A Financing

Owl Labs, a Boston, MA-based developer of new IoT hardware solution for video conferencing, has come out of stealth with $6M in Series A financing.

The round was led by Matrix Partners.

The company is using the funds to finalize the product.

Founded by CEO Max Makeev and CTO Mark Schnittman, both formerly of iRobot, the company is building an IoT video conferencing hardware product (a USB audio and video device) to improve the meeting experience of remote employees by making it more connected.
Owl Labs will share full product details at the product’s launch this summer. It will be available for purchase later this year.

The company, which today has a team of just under 20, was seeded by Playground Ventures and was the first company to join Playground’s West Coast Design Studio, both founded by Android co-creator Andy Rubin.
