Mode Closes $13M Series B Funding

Mode, a San Francisco, CA-based collaborative analytics platform, closed a $13m Series B funding round.

The round was led by REV Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to focus on further expansion outside of Silicon Valley.

Led by Derek Steer, CEO and co-founder, Mode provides a collaborative analytics platform for companies to improve their ability to use data effectively across the organization. Its collaborative analytics platform allows people who prefer SQL and Python-powered analysis to work right along side people who prefer drag-and-drop data exploration. Users can write queries against Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, Hive/Impala, MySQL, Postgres, and Presto, among other data sources.

Mode also supports the analytics community with free learning resources, open source SQL queries, and offers its tools for free to anyone analyzing public data.

The company has more than 500 customers including Lyft, Shopify, Thumbtack, Time, Twitch and Zillow.
