Ortho Kinematics‚ Inc., an Austin, Texas–based healthcare diagnostics company focused on spine imaging informatics, closed a $18.6m Series D equity financing.
Backers were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand commercialization of its Vertebral Motion Analysis as well as to further develop the technology.
Led by Paul Gunnoe, CEO, Ortho Kinematics has developed VMA (Vertebral Motion Analysis) technology for the radiographic assessment of spinal instability and alignment. The company is now working with a group of clinicians, researchers, and developers who are passionate about leveraging spine biomechanical data to improve the diagnosis and treatment of back pain.
