Oddup Raises US$6M in Series A Funding

Oddup, a Hong Kong-based research platform that provides information to startup investing using data and analysis, raised US$6m in Series A funding.

The round, which brought total funding to US$7m, was led by Brand Capital, the investment arm of The Times Group, India’s largest media conglomerate, with participation from existing investors 500 Startups and Click Ventures and new investors Moneta Ventures and White Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to expand into India and complete its expansion throughout Asia.

Co-founded by James Giancotti and Jackie Lam, Oddup provides a data driven research platform that gives users analytical information on startups. The company rates startups from a score of zero to 100 and delivers startup data, research, and media that covers this asset class that is of core interest to angel investors, venture capital and private equity professionals.
Oddup recently partnered with Thomson Reuters and introduced an updated version of its website to allow investors from around the world to tap into the startup landscape in Asia and to bring more news coverage and analysis to its users. The platform is free to sign-up and use, with a subscription charge for premium access to the reports and in-depth analysis.
In addition, the company provides an API for customers who want to integrate startup data into their existing workflows and a mobile app for Apple iOS and Android.
