axial3D Raises £530K in Seed Funding

axial3D, a Belfast, UK-based web-based technology for 3D printing in healthcare, raised a second close of seed funding round, which now totals £530k.

Backers included Techstart NI, which has invested a further £100k, bringing total investment in the company to £250k, and Patrick Hurst MBE. Hurst also joined the Board of Directors as axial3D Chairperson.

The company plans to use the funds to further develop its axial3D insight.

axial3D creates precise 3D models generated from patient CT, MRI and PET data to aid diagnosis and enhance pre-operative planning.
The company’s 3D printed models are relied upon by prominent consultants from the NHS and private healthcare sectors across various disciplines including Orthopaedics, oncology, oral and maxillofacial, oncology, trauma and cardiac surgery.
