Rotor Raises £300k in Seed Funding

rotorRotor, a London UK- and Dublin, EIRE-based content platform for creating promotional videos, raised £300k in seed funding.

Backers included Ascension Ventures, which made the investment via the ASCEND SEIS Fund III, Finance South England (FSE Group) and a group of angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its customer base and grow operations.

Led by Diarmuid Moloney, co-founder and CEO, Eoghan Kidney, Co-founder & CCO, and Simon Hamilton, Co-founder & CTO, Rotor provides a cloud-based content creation platform that enables a user to create personalized music and promotional videos in minutes. Individuals upload their audio file, and in a few short steps, Rotor renders video content by automatically matching it to the audio. The user can select stock video content from Rotor or upload their own video clips. If they like the preview (which takes around 3-5 minutes to generate), they can buy the high-resolution version. If they don’t like the preview, they can make changes.

Rotor videos can be sent as messages on Snapchat, be posted by musicians and businesses on Instagram, and audiences can view them using Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
