Lucy Raises $2.25m in Seed Funding

lucyLucy, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a support system for expecting parents, raised $2.25m in seed funding.

The round was led by Forerunner Ventures and Felicis Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its team and grow beyond the Bay Area.

Led by Shannon Spanhake and Chitra Akileswaran, Lucy provides tech-enabled responsive and customizable support from pregnancy through baby’s first year, by connecting women workers and their partners to certified experts for 1:1 sessions that take place in the employee’s home or virtually for coaching, lactation and sleep support, and financial planning issues.

The service, which creates individual plans tailored to each family’s specific needs, is used by employers to increase female retention and reduce health claims while providing more meaningful help to their new families.
