Tenka Labs, a Sausalito, California, CA-based maker of smart toys, raised $2.1m in seed funding.
The investors were not disclosed.
The company will use the funds to produce the toys and expand operations.
Co-founded by longtime educators Nate MacDonald and John Schuster, Tenka Labs has announced the launch of Circuit Cubes, LEGO®-compatible electronic building blocks that work into toys while demonstrating STEM and STEAM basics to kids K-6.
The three essential Circuit Cubes — the Motor Cube, Battery Cube, and LED Cube — are available for pre-order in three introductory kits: Whacky Wheels, Bright Lights, and Smart Art.
