Taxfyle, a Miami, FL-based secure on-demand tax and accounting marketplace, closed a $2m seed financing.
Backers included Jeff Ransdell Group, Jonas Tempel and existing investors.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to scale its marketplace.
Founded in August 2015 by Richard Lavina, CEO, Taxfyle provides a mobile and web-based tax app that connects consumers and SMBs directly with more than 700 Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Enrolled Agents (EAs).
In January, the company partnered with TaxAct, a provider of technology-enabled financial solutions to consumers, small businesses and tax professionals. Through the partnership, Taxfyle is able to service more complex filers through direct access to CPAs and EAs with affordable tax solutions.
In early 2017, Taxfyle launched a new version of its app to provide a web platform and extensive mobile capabilities including App Pay, Touch ID and business return filings.
