SnapRoute, a Palo Alto, CA-based platform for network administrators to create agile data centers, closed $25m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and new investors AT&T and Microsoft Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Norwest Partner Rama Sekhar has joined SnapRoute’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development of open networking software solutions to increase their reach across Fortune 500 companies.
Led by Jason Forrester, CEO and founder, SnapRoute provides Network OS FlexSwitch open-source software running on commodity “white box” switches and routers to enable companies to build agile data centers via a programmable network stack that is modular, Linux distribution agnostic, and equipped with RESTful APIs at every level.
